The next step you will want to take is to see what programs you have installed. Many of us install programs without much thought to our system. Go to your settings and to the add/remove programs. Take a look at what is listed there and see if there is anything that you can delete or uninstall. After you delete the programs and the files, you will want to run a registry cleaner to get rid of those little bits of programs and files that might not have been deleted completely. In addition to the registry cleaning, you will want to defrayment your hard disk. Decrementing is what puts your computer files back in order and tidies up the mess that can sometimes occur if you’ve gone a long time since you did a basic maintenance routine on your computer.
Computers are a lot like regular desks. The less clutter they have, the more functional they become. Before taking your system to a computer repair system and demanding to know “why is my computer slow” you should take care to do all of those little maintenance tasks that you keep putting off. Set aside a time each week to do these things. The more regularly you take care of them, the less problems your computer will have and then less often you will have to ask “why is my computer slow”.
